What We Do

Small Town Christmas

Our Kiwanis Club participates in the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Small Town Christmas each year, handing out hot cocoa and cookies to everyone! Small Town Christmas is usually the first Saturday in December at Our Park – 215 Highway 50. Come watch the town Christmas tree lit, visit with the Grinch, and get your picture taken with Santa Claus!

Trunk Or Treat

Our Kiwanis Club participates in the Lyon County Library Trunk or Treat each year. It is held in the Library parking lot – 321 Dayton Valley Rd. Visit their calendar page for more details. We usually hand out candy, but every year is different.

Take A Book-Leave A Book

Our Kiwanis Club is implementing Little Free Libraries around the Dayton Area, with a focus on youth. We encourage our young residents to participate in reading! Libraries will be monitored for appropriate content by our club members. We currently have library boxes at the Grocery Outlet – 7 Dayton Village Pkwy, and Dayton Valley Golf Course – 101 Palmer Dr.

Comfort House

We support the Comfort House of Lyon County by volunteering at their fundraising events, and by collecting toiletry items for the residents. The Comfort House is a Lyon County organization that is an emergency shelter and foster home for up to 10 school aged children (ages five through eighteen), at any given time. Look for our Kits for Kids receptacles arriving in local businesses soon.

Pop Warner Football

We support Pop Warner Football by volunteering our time at their events, and by donating to their organization.

Little Golfers

We support the Little Golfers Program at Dayton Valley Golf Club by volunteering our time, and by donating to the organization.

Our Key Club at the Dayton High School has been reinstated. If you are interested in joining Key Club, please contact Carolyn McConnell-Conseur at (775)246-6240 or [email protected]. Or, check out their website at DHS Key Club.
